Flipkart Faces Backlash After Cancelling iPhone 16 Orders During Big Billion Days Sale

Flipkart’s Big Billion Days 2025 sale is facing mounting criticism as hundreds of customers report that their orders for Apple’s iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro were cancelled shortly after purchase—despite payments being confirmed. The controversy erupted amid the massive demand for what were advertised as steep discounts on the devices.

The sale kicked off with early access for Flipkart Black and Plus members on September 22, and opened for all users on September 23. Flipkart promoted the 128GB iPhone 16 at a price of ₹51,999, while the 128GB iPhone 16 Pro was listed at ₹69,999. These offers triggered a rush of orders. However, within just a few hours, many buyers reported that their orders were cancelled automatically—even though their payments had gone through.

Multiple customers took to social media to express frustration over what they described as misleading tactics. One user claimed to have placed three orders only to see all of them cancelled within hours. Another user wrote that after successfully confirming payment and order status, their device was later marked cancelled with vague reasons like “quantity limits.” Others noted that while some Flipkart Premium members saw their orders processed and shipped, many regular users faced cancellations without any explanation.

The issue appears particularly widespread for orders placed around midnight on September 23, when the flash deals went live for the general public. As per reports, even those who were part of early access or special membership programs experienced cancellations. The inconsistencies have led many to question whether the sale was truly legitimate or primarily a marketing ploy to attract traffic and attention.

Buyers demanding accountability are especially upset about the lack of clarity around refund timelines. Some customers say they are waiting for their money to be returned, while others who saw successful order placements remain in limbo awaiting deliveries.

So far, Flipkart has not issued an official statement responding to these complaints. With social media overflowing with user grievances and accusations, there’s growing pressure on the platform to address the fallout, clarify its order fulfilment policies, and restore buyer trust during these high-stakes sales events.

  • Samsung Begins One UI 8 Rollout for Galaxy Z Fold 6 & Flip 6, Including September Security Patch

Samsung Begins One UI 8 Rollout for Galaxy Z Fold 6 & Flip 6, Including September Security Patch

Samsung has officially launched the stable version of One UI 8 for its 2024 foldable flagships, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, beginning with users in South Korea. The update is based on Android 16 and includes the September security patch. A broader global rollout is expected in the coming days.

The new firmware builds differ by region and model—versions for the Fold 6 include F956NKSU2CYI7, F956NOKR2CYI7, and F956NKSU2CYHC, while the Flip 6 builds are F741NKSU2CYI6, F741NOKR2CYI6, and F741NOKR2CYHC. These updates mark the move from beta versions to stable software for many users.

One major change is that One UI 8 brings the latest Android security fixes, which are now being shipped alongside the update to address vulnerabilities. Samsung had already started pushing One UI 8 to the Galaxy S25 series in the US, and with this announcement, foldables are next in its update schedule.

Samsung’s rollout plan shows that more devices will receive this upgrade in September and October. Already on the schedule are the Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy A56 5G, A36 5G, and several additional models.

For users of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, the update is expected to bring enhancements from One UI 7—such as improved performance, UI refinements, and possibly new features or improvements in features like multitasking and folding behaviour.

Owners of these foldables in regions outside South Korea should see the update soon; Samsung typically follows up quickly once updates are stable in initial regions. Users are advised to ensure their devices are charged and back up data before installing major updates.
